Educators & Community -- IAGC Scholarships and Grant  Information

IAGC provides a variety of scholarship and recognition opportunities for parents, educators, or community members. All scholarship winners are recognized at the annual IAGC Conference or Parent Saturday.

The IAGC is proud to offer scholarship assistance to attend the annual IAGC conference and grant-funded support to design projects that cultivate potential in young people.

Conference Scholarship

The IAGC is proud to offer support to two educators and/or parents who would otherwise be unable to attend the Annual IAGC Conference, in honor of IAGC founding members, Mary Ann Paradise and Ruth Wright.

Awarded to TWO applicants, this scholarship provides a complimentary one-day registration to the IAGC Conference or Parent Saturday.

TEACHER Grant

  Supporting Students' Talent Development 

This award, previously the Promising Projects Award, was established in 2002 by the Illinois Association for Gifted Children to provide monetary support for teacher designed projects that cultivate potential in young people with unique gifts, talents, or advanced learning needs, with a focus on opportunities for underserved populations (e.g., twice-exceptional, lower income, EL, etc.).

Eligible projects must be specifically designed and differentiated to meet the needs of advanced learners. The money may be used to purchase or pay for project related costs, including student materials, activity fees, speakers, etc.

One or more grants will be given each year, not to exceed a total dollar amount of $500. 

Any current IAGC member may apply for the grant. 

Applications should include:  

1. Overview of and rationale for the project 

2. A description of the population of students to be served (must be Illinois students), including the number of students and grade levels 

3. Learning outcomes expected 

4. Budget  

5. Plan for evaluation/assessment of impact
